Pinpoint Test
- CHECK THE HORIZONTAL MOTOR FOR CORRECT OPERATION

WARNING: Turn the ignition OFF and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death in the event of an accidental deployment.
Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: Driver Seat Side Air Bag C3051.
- Operate the driver seat forward and rearward.
Does the seat move horizontally?
- Yes: GO to 2 .
- No: GO to 3 .

- CHECK THE RECLINER MOTOR FOR CORRECT OPERATION
- Recline the driver backrest forward and rearward.
Does the seat backrest recline forward and rearward?
- CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE DRIVER SEAT HORIZONTAL MOTOR
- Disconnect: Driver Seat Horizontal Motor C362.

NOTE: During the following step, the voltage being measured changes polarity dependent upon which direction the seat control switch is activated.
While pushing the driver seat control switch forward and rearward, measure:
Driver Seat Horizontal Motor Driver Seat Horizontal Motor C362 C362 Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 1 CPS23 (GN/VT) 2 CPS28 (GN)
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts when the seat control switch is operated and 0 volt in the rest position?
- Yes: INSTALL a new seat track assembly. REFER to Seat Track . GO to 16.
- No: GO to 4 .
- CHECK THE HORIZONTAL MOTOR CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect: Driver Seat Control Switch C369.
- Measure:
Driver Seat Control Switch Driver Seat Horizontal Motor C369 C362 Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 9 CPS28 (GN) 2 CPS28 (GN)
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
- Yes: GO to 5 .
- No: REPAIR the circuit. GO to 16 .
- CHECK THE HORIZONTAL MOTOR CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure:
Driver Seat Control Switch Driver Seat Horizontal Motor C369 C362 Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 4 CPS23 (GN/VT) 1 CPS23 (GN/VT)
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
- Yes: INSTALL a new seat control switch. REFER to Seat Control Switch . GO to 16.
- No: REPAIR the circuit. GO to 16 .
- Measure:
- DETERMINE THE SEAT HEIGHT ADJUST FAILURE
- Operate the seat front and rear height adjustments.
Does the seat front and rear height adjust up and down?
- Yes: If only the front height adjust motor operates, GO to 7
.
If only the rear height adjust motor operates, GO to 10.
- No: INSTALL a new seat control switch. REFER to Seat Control Switch . GO to 16.
- CHECK VOLTAGE TO THE REAR HEIGHT MOTOR
- Disconnect: Driver Seat Rear Height Motor C363.

NOTE: During the following step, the voltage being measured changes polarity dependent upon which direction the seat control switch is activated.
While pressing the rear height adjust switch up and down, measure:
Driver Seat Rear Height Motor Driver Seat Rear Height Motor C363 C363 Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 1 CPS27 (BU/BN) 5 CPS26 (YE/BU)
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts when the seat control switch is operated and 0 volt in the rest position?
- Yes: INSTALL a new seat track assembly. REFER to Seat Track . GO to 16.
- No: GO to 8 .
- CHECK THE REAR SEAT HEIGHT MOTOR CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect: Driver Seat Control Switch C369.
- Measure:
Driver Seat Control Switch Driver Seat Rear Height Motor C369 C363 Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 1 CPS27 (BU/BN) 1 CPS27 (BU/BN)
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
- Yes: GO to 9 .
- No: REPAIR the circuit. GO to 16 .
- CHECK THE REAR SEAT HEIGHT MOTOR CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure:
Driver Seat Control Switch Driver Seat Rear Height Motor C369 C363 Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 12 CPS26 (YE/BU) 5 CPS26 (YE/BU)
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
- Yes: INSTALL a new seat control switch. REFER to Seat Control Switch . GO to 16.
- No: REPAIR the circuit. GO to 16.
- Measure:
- CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE DRIVER SEAT FRONT HEIGHT MOTOR
- Disconnect: Driver Seat Front Height Motor C382.

NOTE: During the following step, the voltage being measured changes polarity dependent upon which direction the seat control switch is activated.
While pressing the front height adjust switch up and down, measure:
Driver Seat Front Height Motor Driver Seat Front Height Motor C382 C382 Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 1 CPS24 (GY) 2 CPS25 (WH/VT)
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts when the seat control switch is operated and 0 volt in the rest position?
- Yes: INSTALL a new seat track assembly. REFER to Seat Track . GO to 16.
- No: GO to 11 .
- CHECK THE FRONT HEIGHT MOTOR CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect: Driver Seat Control Switch C369.
- Measure:
Driver Seat Control Switch Driver Seat Front Height Motor C369 C382 Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 2 CPS25 (WH/VT) 2 CPS25 (WH/VT)
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
- Yes: GO to 12 .
- No: REPAIR the circuit. GO to 16 .
- CHECK THE FRONT HEIGHT MOTOR CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure:
Driver Seat Control Switch Driver Seat Front Height Motor C369 C382 Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 6 CPS24 (GY) 1 CPS24 (GY)
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
- Yes: INSTALL a new seat control switch. REFER to Seat Control Switch . GO to 16.
- No: REPAIR the circuit. GO to 16.
- Measure:
- CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE DRIVER SEAT RECLINER MOTOR
- Disconnect: Driver Seat Recliner Motor C3187.

NOTE: During the following step, the voltage being measured changes polarity dependent upon which direction the seat control switch is activated.
While pushing the recline switch forward and rearward, measure:
Driver Seat Recliner Motor Driver Seat Recliner Motor C3187 C3187 Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 1 CPS07 (GY/BN) 3 CPS08 (VT/OG)
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts when the seat control switch is operated in both directions and 0 volt in the rest position?
- Yes: INSTALL a new seat recliner motor. REFER to Seat Recliner Motor . GO to 16.
- No: GO to 14 .
- CHECK THE RECLINER MOTOR CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect: Driver Seat Control Switch C369.
- Measure:
Driver Seat Control Switch Driver Seat Recliner Motor C369 C3187 Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 11 CPS29 (WH/BN) 1 CPS07 (GY/BN)
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
- Yes: GO to 15 .
- No: REPAIR the circuit. GO to 16 .
- CHECK THE RECLINER MOTOR CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure:
Driver Seat Control Switch Driver Seat Recliner Motor C369 C3187 Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 8 CPS30 (VT/BN) 3 CPS08 (VT/OG)
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
- Yes: INSTALL a new seat control switch. REFER to Seat Control Switch . GO to 16 .
- No: REPAIR the circuit. GO to 16 .
- Measure:
- CHECK FOR SRS DTCs

Ignition OFF.
- Connect: Driver Seat Side Air Bag C3051.
- Connect: All previously disconnected electrical connectors.
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, clear the RCM DTCs .
- Cycle the ignition OFF then ON.
- Using a scan tool, perform RCM self-test.
Are any RCM DTCs retrieved during self-test?
- Yes: REFER to DTC CHART: RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE (RCM) for pinpoint test direction.
- No: The repair is complete. RETURN the vehicle to the customer.
