Pinpoint Test

1. Ignition ON.
2. Verify there is an observable symptom present.

Is an observable symptom present? 

1. Yes: GO to 2  .
2. No: The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.

1. Ignition ON.
2. Using a scan tool, perform the network test.

Does the BCM pass the network test? 

1. Yes: GO to 3  .
2. No: REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE I : The Body Control Module (BCM) Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool.

1. Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.

Is DTC U3003:16 or DTC U3003:17 recorded? 

1. Yes: For DTC U3003:16, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE H : DTC U3003:16.

   For DTC U3003:17, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE I : DTC U3003:17.

2. No: GO to 4  .

1. Using a scan tool, perform the LTM self-test.

Is DTC B1317 or DTC B1318 recorded? 

1. Yes: For DTC B1317, REFER to Diagnostic Routine N: B1317 .

   For DTC B1318, REFER to Diagnostic Routine O: B1318 .

2. No: GO to 5  .

1. Using a scan tool, clear the DTCs  .
2. Wait 10 seconds.
3. Using a scan tool, perform the LTM self-test.

Is DTC U0140 still present? 

1. Yes: GO to 6  .
2. No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.

1. Using a scan tool, clear all DTCs  .
2. Ignition OFF.
3. Ignition ON.
4. Wait 10 seconds.
5. Using a scan tool, retrieve the continuous memory DTCs  from all modules.

Is DTC U0140 set in the DSM or IPC? 

1. Yes: INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITH INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) , or BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITHOUT INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) .
2. No: INSTALL a new LTM. REFER to Liftgate/Trunk Module (LTM) .
