Pinpoint Test

  1. CHECK THE DTCs  FROM THE BCM SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.

    Is DTC B126A:01 present?

  2. VERIFY THE OPERATION OF BOTH DOOR LOCK CONTROL SWITCHES
    1. Press the lock and unlock buttons on both door lock control switches while observing the door lock operation.

Are the door locks inoperative from both switches?

  3. VERIFY ALL DOOR LOCKS ARE INOPERATIVE
    1. Press the lock and unlock buttons from a door lock control switch while observing the door locks.

Are all the door locks inoperative from both switch positions (lock and unlock)?

    • Yes: VERIFY the BCM fuse 20 (20A) is OK. If OK, GO to .

If not OK, GO to  6.

    • No: CHECK the symptom(s) and REFER to DTC AND SYMPTOM CHART(S) .
  4. CHECK THE POWER DOOR LOCK RELAY GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
    1. Ignition OFF.
    2. Disconnect BCM C2280D.
    3. Measure:
      BCM Ground
      G08040495
      G08040496
      C2280D Ground
Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit
      16 GD233 (BK)
      G08040497
      - Ground

Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?

    • Yes: GO to .
    • No: REPAIR the circuit.
  5. CHECK THE ALL DOOR LOCK CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
    1. Disconnect LH Front Door Lock Actuator.
    2. Measure:
BCM LH Front Door Lock Actuator
      G08040498
      G08040499
      C2280D C525
Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit
      26 CPL11 (GY/BN)
      G08040500
      4 CPL11 (GY/BN)

Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?

    • Yes: GO to  7.
    • No: REPAIR the circuit.
  6. CHECK THE ALL LOCK CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
    1. Install a new BCM fuse 20 (20A).
    2. Operate the door lock actuators by pressing LOCK on the door lock control switch.

Is the BCM fuse 20 (20A) OK?

    • Yes: REPAIR the driver door or passenger door unlock circuit for a short to ground.
    • No: REPAIR the all lock circuit for a short to ground.
  7. CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM OPERATION
    1. Ignition OFF.
    2. Disconnect all the BCM connectors.
    3. Repair:
      • corrosion, (install new connectors or terminals - clean module pins)
      • damaged or bent pins - install new terminals pins
      • pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
    4. Connect all the BCM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    5. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

    Is the concern still present?

    • Yes: CHECK OASIS  for any applicable TSBs  . If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and follow TSB instructions. If no TSBs  address this concern, INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITHOUT INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) .
    • No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
