Pinpoint Test
- RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs
IN THE BCM
- Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
Is DTC B1305:01 present?
- Yes: REFER to Diagnostic Routine B: B1305:01 .
- No: GO to 2 .
- CHECK THE COURTESY LAMP OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Close all the doors and liftgate.
- Observe the courtesy lamps while waiting about 30 seconds.
Do the courtesy lamps turn off?
- Yes: GO to 3 .
- No: REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE J : All The Courtesy Lamps Stay On Continuously.
- VERIFY THE HAZARD LAMP OPERATION
- Place the hazard switch in the ON position.
Do the hazard lamps operate correctly?
- Yes: GO to 4 .
- No: REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE R : One Turn Signal Lamp Is Inoperative Or Always On.
- CHECK THE RKE TRANSMITTER FUNCTION
- Using the RKE transmitter, lock and unlock the doors.
Does the RKE transmitter lock and unlock the doors?
- Yes: GO to 5 .
- No:
REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE I : The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Transmitter Is Inoperative (without IA), or
REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE J : The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Transmitter Is Inoperative (with IA).
- CHECK THE KEYLESS ENTRY KEYPAD FUNCTION
- Lock the doors using the keyless entry keypad.
Do all the doors lock using the keyless entry keypad?
- Yes: GO to 6 .
- No:
REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE G : The Doors Do Not Lock Or Unlock Using the Keyless Entry Keypad (without IA), or
REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE F : The Doors Do Not Lock or Unlock Using The Keyless Entry Keypad (with IA).
- CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect all BCM connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect all BCM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
- Yes: CHECK OASIS
for any applicable TSBs
. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs
address this concern, INSTALL a new BCM:
REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITH INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) .
REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITHOUT INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) .
- No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
