Pinpoint Test

  1. CHECK FOR ACC VOLTAGE AT THE BCM
    1. Disconnect: BCM C2280B.
    2. Ignition ACC.
    3. Measure:
      BCM Ground

      Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit
      35 CDC33 (VT/GN)
      G08028291
      		 - Ground

      Is the voltage greater than 11 volts? 

      1. Yes:  GO to  3.
      2. No  : GO to 2  .
  2. CHECK THE IGNITION ACC CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
    1. Ignition OFF.
    2. Disconnect: Ignition Switch.
    3. Measure:
      BCM Ignition Switch

      Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit
      35 CDC33 (VT/GN)

      		 6 CDC33 (VT/GN)

    Is the resistance less than 3 ohms? 

    1. Yes:  INSTALL a new ignition switch. REFER to Ignition Switch .
    2. No  : REPAIR the circuit.
  3. CHECK FOR POWER TO THE RUN/ACC RELAY
    1. Ignition OFF.
    2. Disconnect: BCM fuse 10 (10A).
    3. Measure:
      BCM Fuse Ground

      Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit
      Input cavity -

      		 - Ground

    Is the voltage greater than 11 volts? 

    1. Yes:  VERIFY BCM fuse 10 (15A) is OK. If OK, GO to 4  . If not OK, REFER to the appropriate wiring diagrams to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. REFER to OEM FUSE AND RELAY INFORMATION and OEM WIRING DIAGRAMS .
    2. No  : GO to 5  .
  4. CHECK THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY
    1. Disconnect: Accessory Delay Relay.
    2. Carry out the appropriate relay component test.

      Refer to OEM Wiring Diagrams - COMPONENT TESTING for schematic and connector information.

    Does the relay pass the test? 

    1. Yes:  GO to 5  .
    2. No  : INSTALL a new accessory delay relay.
  5. CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM OPERATION
    1. Disconnect and inspect all BCM connectors.
    2. Repair:
      • corrosion (install new connector or terminal - clean module pins)
      • damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
      • pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
    3. Reconnect the BCM connectors and all previously disconnected exterior system connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
    4. Install BCM fuse 10 (15A) (if previously removed).
    5. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

    Is the concern still present? 

    1. Yes:  CHECK OASIS  for any applicable TSBs  . If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs  address this concern, INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITHOUT INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) , or REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITH INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) .
    2. No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
