Pinpoint Test

1. Ignition ON.
2. Using a scan tool, perform the FLM network test.

Does the FLM pass the network test? 

• Yes: GO to 2  .
• No: REFER to SYMPTOM CHART: COMMUNICATION NETWORK .

1. Review the DTCs  recorded from the BCM self-test.

Is DTC B1A85:11 or DTC B1A85:13 present? 

• Yes: REFER to Diagnostic Routine L: The Autolamps Are On Continuously .
• No: GO to 3  .

1. Using a scan tool, view FLM PIDs  .
2. Using a scan tool, monitor the FLM LT_SW PID while moving the headlamp switch through all positions.

Do the headlamp switch positions agree with the PID? 

• Yes: GO to 4  .
• No: INSTALL a new FLM. REFER to Front Lighting Control Module (FLM) .

1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect: BCM C2280E.
3. Ignition ON.

Does the left or right headlamp continue to illuminate? 

• Yes: For vehicles with halogen headlamps, REPAIR the BCM low beam output circuit in question for a short to voltage.

  For vehicles with HID headlamps, GO to 5  .

• No: GO to  6.

1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect: Illuminated Headlamp.
3. Ignition ON.
4. Measure:

   Always On Low Beam			Ground
   Headlamp			Ground
   Connector-Pin	Circuit	Measurement / Action	Pin	Circuit
   Left C1284A-1	CLF04 (BN/BU)		-	Ground
   Right C1285A-1	CLF05 (BU/GN)		-	Ground

Is any voltage present? 

• Yes: REPAIR the BCM low beam output circuit in question for a short to voltage.
• No: REPAIR or install a new headlamp assembly. REFER to Headlamp Assembly .

1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect and inspect all BCM connectors.
3. Repair:
   • corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
   • damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
   • pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
4. Reconnect the BCM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
5. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

Is the concern still present? 

• Yes: CHECK OASIS  for any applicable TSBs  . If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs  address this concern, Install a new BCM. REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITHOUT INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) , or REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITH INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) .
• No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
