Pinpoint Test

VERIFY CUSTOMER CONCERN
1. Ignition ON.
2. Verify that there is an observable symptom present.
Is an observable symptom present?
- Yes: GO to 2 .
- No: The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
1. Ignition ON.
2. Using a scan tool, perform the network test.
Does the BCM pass the network test?
- Yes: GO to 3 .
- No: REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE I : The Body Control Module (BCM) Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool.
RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE SELF-TEST
1. Check for recorded FLM DTCs from the self-test.
Is DTC B11D9:16 or DTC B11D9:17 recorded?
- Yes: For DTC B11D9:16, REFER to Diagnostic Routine AE: DTC B11D9:16 .
  For DTC B11D9:17, REFER to Diagnostic Routine AF: DTC B11D9:17 .
- No: GO to 4 .
CHECK FOR DTCs U3003:16 AND U3003:17 FROM THE BCM SELF-TEST
1. Using a scan tool, retrieve the continuous memory DTCs from the BCM.
Is DTC U3003:16 or DTC U3003:17 recorded?
- Yes:
  For DTC U3003:16, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE H : DTC U3003:16.
  
  For DTC U3003:17, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE I : DTC U3003:17.
- No: GO to 5 .
RECHECK THE FLM DTCs
NOTE: If new modules were installed prior to the DTC being set, the module configuration may be incorrectly set during PMI or the PMI may not have been carried out.
1. Using a scan tool, clear the DTCs . Repeat the FLM self-test.
Is DTC U0140:87 still present?
- Yes: GO to 6 .
- No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
CHECK FOR DTC U0140:87 OR DTC U0140 OTHER MODULES
1. Using a scan tool, clear all DTCs .
2. Ignition OFF.
3. Ignition ON.
4. Wait 10 seconds.
5. Using a scan tool, retrieve the continuous memory DTCs from all modules.
Is DTC U0140:87 or DTC U0140 set in any other module?
- Yes: INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITHOUT INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) , or REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITH INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) .
- No: INSTALL a new FLM. REFER to Front Lighting Control Module (FLM) .
