Pinpoint Test

NOTE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
  1. CHECK FOR RECORDED DTCs  FROM THE PAM SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, perform the PAM DTCs  self-test.

    Is DTC B1303:11 recorded? 

    1. Yes: GO to .
    2. No: REFER to DTC CHART: PARKING AID MODULE (PAM) .
  2. CHECK THE ACTIVE PARK SWITCH FOR AN INTERNAL SHORT
    1. Ignition OFF.
    2. Disconnect: Active Park Assist Switch.
    3. Ignition ON.
    4. Using a scan tool, clear the PAM DTCs  and repeat the self-test.

    Is DTC B1303:11 recorded? 

    1. Yes: GO to .
    2. No: INSTALL a new active park assist switch. REFER to Active Park Assist Switch .
  3. CHECK THE ACTIVE PARK SWITCH SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
    1. Ignition OFF.
    2. Disconnect: PAM.
    3. Measure:
      Active Park Assist Switch Ground

      Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit
      5 CMP18 (GN/BN)

      - Ground

    Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms? 

    1. Yes: GO to .
    2. No: REPAIR the circuit.
  4. CHECK FOR CORRECT PAM OPERATION
    1. Disconnect and inspect the PAM connector.
    2. Repair:
      • corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
      • damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
      • pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
    3. Reconnect the PAM connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly.
    4. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

    Is the concern still present? 

    1. Yes: CHECK OASIS  for any applicable TSBs  . If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs  address this concern, INSTALL a new PAM. REFER to PARKING AID MODULE (PAM) .
    2. No: The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
