Pinpoint Test

RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE RCM SELF-TEST
1. Using a scan tool, perform the RCM self-test.
Are any DTCs recorded?
1. Yes: REFER to DTC CHART: RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE (RCM) .
2. No: GO to 2 .
RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
1. Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any DTCs recorded?
1. Yes: For DTC U0151:00, REFER to Diagnostic Routine AW: U0151:00 .
  For all other DTCs , REFER to DTC Chart: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
2. No: GO to 3 .
CARRY OUT THE IPC RESTRAINTS OUTPUT CONTROL ACTIVE COMMAND USING THE SCAN TOOL
1. Ignition ON.
2. Using a scan tool, view the IPC PIDs .
3. Select the IPC (AIRBAG_LMP) PID. Command the air bag warning indicator on and off. Observe the air bag warning indicator.
Does the air bag warning indicator illuminate when commanded on and turn off when commanded off?
1. Yes: If the air bag warning indicator is never on, the system is operating correctly at this time.
  If the air bag warning indicator is always on, INSTALL a new RCM. REFER to RESTRAINTS CONTROL MODULE (RCM) .
2. No: INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
