Pinpoint Test

  1. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs  FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any DTCs recorded? 

    1. Yes: For DTC U0121:00, REFER to Diagnostic Routine AU: U0121:00 .

      For all other DTCs  , REFER to DTC Chart: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .

    2. No: GO to .
  2. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs  FROM THE ABS MODULE SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, perform the ABS module self-test.

    Are any DTCs recorded? 

    1. Yes: REFER to DTC CHART: ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE .
    2. No: GO to .
  3. CARRY OUT THE IPC INDICATOR LAMP CONTROL ACTIVE COMMAND USING THE SCAN TOOL
    1. Ignition ON.
    2. Using a scan tool, view the IPC PIDs  .
    3. Select the IPC stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon) PID (TC/IVD/RSCLMP). Command the stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon) on and off while observing the stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon).

    Does the stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon) illuminate when commanded on and turn off when commanded off? 

    1. Yes: If the stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon) is never on, the system is operating correctly at this time.

      If the stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon) is always on, INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE .

    2. No: INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
