Pinpoint Test

  1. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs  FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any DTCs recorded? 

    1. Yes: For DTC U0121:00, REFER to Diagnostic Routine AU: U0121:00 .

      For all other DTCs  , REFER to DTC Chart: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .

    2. No: GO to .
  2. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs  FROM THE ABS MODULE SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, perform the ABS module self-test.

    Are any DTCs recorded? 

    1. Yes: REFER to DTC CHART: ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE .
    2. No: GO to .
  3. CARRY OUT THE IPC INDICATOR LAMP CONTROL ACTIVE COMMAND USING THE SCAN TOOL
    1. Ignition ON.
    2. Using a scan tool, view the IPC PIDs  .
    3. Select the IPC ABS warning indicator PID (ABS_LAMP). Command the ABS warning indicator on then off. Observe the ABS warning indicator.

    Does the ABS warning indicator turn illuminate when commanded on and turn off when commanded off? 

    1. Yes: If the ABS warning indicator is always on, INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE .

      If the ABS warning indicator is never on, the system is operating correctly at this time.

    2. No: INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
