Pinpoint Test

  1. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs  FROM THE PCM KOEO SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, perform the PCM KOEO self-test.

    Are any DTCs recorded? 

    1. Yes: REFER to SECTION 3: SYMPTOM CHARTS .
    2. No: GO to 2  .
  2. CHECK FOR CORRUPTED NVM
    1. Ignition ON.
    2. Observe the message center display area.

    Does the odometer display ERROR? 

    1. Yes: INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
    2. No: GO to 3  .
  3. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs  FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any DTCs recorded? 

    1. Yes: For DTC U0100:00, REFER to Diagnostic Routine AR: U0100:00 . For all other DTCs  , REFER to DTC Chart: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
    2. No: INSTALL a new PCM. REFER to POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) - 2.0L GTDI , or REFER to POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) - 3.5L TI-VCT .
