Pinpoint Test

  1. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs  FROM THE PCM KOEO SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, perform the PCM KOEO self-test.

    Are any DTCs recorded? 

    1. Yes: REFER to SECTION 3: SYMPTOM CHARTS .
    2. No: GO to .
  2. CARRY OUT THE SPEEDOMETER ACTIVE COMMAND USING THE SCAN TOOL
    1. Ignition ON.
    2. Using a scan tool, view the IPC PIDs  .
    3. Select the IPC speedometer (SPDOMETER) PID. Command the speedometer on and off while monitoring the speedometer.

    Does the speed begin at 0 kmh (0 mph) move to 225 kmh (140 mph) and return to 0 kmh (0 mph)? 

    1. Yes: GO to .
    2. No: INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
  3. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs  FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any DTCs recorded? 

    1. Yes: For DTC U0100:00, REFER to Diagnostic Routine AR: U0100:00 .

      For all other DTCs  , REFER to DTC Chart: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .

    2. No: INSTALL a new PCM. REFER to POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) - 2.0L GTDI , or REFER to POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) - 3.5L TI-VCT .
