Removal And Installation

- Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM article.
- Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder.
- Insert the ignition key into the lock cylinder and turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
- Push the ignition switch lock cylinder release tab with a punch while pulling out the ignition switch lock cylinder.
- If equipped, twist the tilt wheel handle and remove it.
- Remove the screws and the steering column shrouds.
- Remove the screws and the multi-function switch.
- To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).
- Disconnect the multi-function switch electrical connectors.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Repower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM article.
