Removal And Installation

  1. Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM article.
  2. Insert the ignition key into the lock cylinder and turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
    • Push the ignition switch lock cylinder release tab with a punch while pulling out the ignition switch lock cylinder.

  3. If equipped, twist the tilt wheel handle and remove it.
  4. Remove the 3 screws and the upper and lower steering column shrouds.
  5. Remove the key release button.
    • Remove the bolt.
    • Remove the spring.
    • Remove the key release button.

  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  7. Repower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM article.
