Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  2. Release the tension on the parking brake system. For additional information, refer to PARKING BRAKE CABLE TENSION RELEASE .
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the parking brake switch.

  4. Disconnect the parking brake release handle cable from the parking brake control.

  5. Remove the pin-retainer and the lower A-pillar trim panel.

  6. Remove the 3 parking brake control retaining nuts and position the parking brake control aside.

  7. Disconnect the hood release cable from the parking brake control.

  8. Position the parking brake cable and conduit grommet through the floor pan and remove the parking brake control.

  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
