Steering Column Multifunction Switch

Removal and Installation










1. Depower the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). For additional information, refer to Restraints and Safety Systems &/or Air Bag Systems.

2. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder.
- Insert the ignition key into the lock cylinder and turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

- Push the ignition switch lock cylinder release tab with a punch while pulling out the ignition switch lock cylinder.






3. If equipped, remove the tilt release lever/handle.

4. Remove the 3 screws and the upper and lower steering column shrouds.

5. Remove the 2 screws and the multifunction switch.
- To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).


6. Disconnect the multifunction switch electrical connectors.

7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

8. Repower the SRS (Supplemental Restraint System). For additional information, refer to Restraints and Safety Systems &/or Air Bag Systems.
