Removal and Installation
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING Article.
- Remove the 4 rear bumper cover pin-type retainers.
- Remove the wheel well to bumper cover screws (4 each side).
- Reposition the trunk trim panel and remove the rear bumper cover nuts.
- Disconnect the rear bumper cover electrical connector.
- Pull outward and downward on the forward upper portion of the bumper cover to un-clip the bumper cover from the bumper cover mounting brackets.
- Pull upward beneath the tail lamps to release the bumper cover upper clips.
- Inspect the bumper cover mounting brackets for damage at the attaching points. If necessary, install new bumper cover mounting reinforcements before installation.
- Pull outward to remove the bumper cover from the vehicle.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
Inspect the lower back sheet metal for distortion.
