    • If the DTE display is above 121 km (75 miles) (with a MyKey™ key) or 80 km (50 miles) (with an administrator key) to empty, the system is operating correctly. The low fuel warning is turned on when the DTE display is 121 km (75 miles) (with a MyKey™ key) or 80 km (50 miles) (with an administrator key) to empty or less.
  • The trunk ajar message center warning indicator is never/always on

  • Using the system check in the message center, VERIFY that the oil life is between 0 and 10% for the OIL CHANGE SOON message or at 0% for the OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message.
    • If the oil life is between 0% and 10%, INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC)  . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • If the oil life is not between 0% and 10%, the message center is operating correctly. INFORM the customer how the message center functions and how the oil life messages are set.
  • The Distance To Empty (DTE)/average fuel economy display is inoperative

  • CHECK the operation of the speedometer, the fuel gauge and the odometer.
  • The TRUNK AJAR warning is inoperative/always on

    • If the odometer or fuel gauge do not operate correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST H  (odometer), GO to PINPOINT TEST B  (single sender L-shaped fuel tank) or GO to PINPOINT TEST C  (dual sender saddle-type fuel tank).

    • If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR message center warning functions correctly, REFER to PARKING AID SYSTEM Article to diagnose the parking aid system.
  • The TRAIN RIGHT FRONT, LEFT FRONT, RIGHT REAR or LEFT REAR TIRE message is inoperative/always on
  • Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) warning indication concern
  • TPMS sensor training
    NOTE: These messages only appear during the TPMS sensor training procedure. Refer to WHEELS & TIRES Article.
  • VERIFY that the TPMS warning indicator functions.
    • If the TPMS warning indicator does not operate, GO to PINPOINT TEST T .
    • If the TPMS warning indicator operates, CARRY OUT the TPMS sensor training. REFER to WHEELS & TIRES Article.
  • The TIRES NOT TRAINED - REPEAT message is always on
  • TPMS sensor training
  • CARRY OUT the TPMS sensor training. REFER to WHEELS & TIRES Article.
  • The TRAINING COMPLETE message is inoperative
  • TPMS sensor training incomplete
  • CARRY OUT the TPMS sensor training. REFER to WHEELS & TIRES Article.
  • The TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR FAULT, LOW TIRE PRESSURE or TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR FAULT warning is inoperative/always on

    • If the TPMS warning indicator does not operate, GO to PINPOINT TEST T .

  • OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY that the DRIVER DOOR AJAR message center warning functions correctly.
    • If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR message center warning does not function correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST AF .
    • If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR message center warning functions correctly, REFER to CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM Article to diagnose an inoperative cruise control system.
  • An adaptive cruise control system warning is inoperative
  • Adaptive cruise control indication concern
  • Cruise control indication concern
  • Adaptive cruise control concern
  • CHECK the cruise control indicator and adaptive cruise control indicator operation.
    • If the cruise control indicator and adaptive cruise control indicator do not operate correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST V  (cruise control indicator) or GO to PINPOINT TEST W  (adaptive cruise control indicator).
    • If the cruise control indicator and adaptive cruise control indicator operate correctly, REFER to CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM Article to diagnose the adaptive cruise control system.
  • The SHIFT TO PARK message is inoperative/always on (Intelligent Access (IA) only)
  • Message center concern

  • The WASHER FLUID LEVEL LOW message is inoperative/always on

    • If the vehicle does not operate in all ignition modes, REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES Article.
  • The NO KEY DETECTED or RESTART NOW OR KEY IS NEEDED message is inoperative/always on
  • Message center concern

  • OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY that the DRIVER DOOR AJAR message center warning and the IA system function correctly.
  • The DRIVER DOOR AJAR, PASSENGER DOOR AJAR, REAR LEFT DOOR AJAR, or REAR RIGHT DOOR AJAR message is inoperative/always on
  • Interior lighting concern

  • GO to PINPOINT TEST AA  to diagnose the door ajar message center warning indicator.
  • The AWD OFF or CHECK AWD message is inoperative/always on

  • OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY that the DRIVER DOOR AJAR message center warning functions correctly.
  • A Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) or Cross Traffic Alert (CTA) system message is inoperative/always on

  • BLIS® or CTA system concern
  • OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY that the DRIVER DOOR AJAR message center warning functions correctly.
    • If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR message center warning does not function correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST AF .
    • If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR message center warning functions correctly, REFER to WARNING SYSTEM - SIDE & REAR VISION Article to diagnose the BLIS® or CTA system.
  • A forward collision warning system message is inoperative/always on

  • OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY that the DRIVER DOOR AJAR message center warning functions correctly.
    • If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR message center warning does not function correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST AF .
    • If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR message center warning functions correctly, REFER to WARNING SYSTEM - COLLISION AVOIDANCE Article to diagnose the forward collision warning system.
  • A MyKey™ message is inoperative/always on
  • Message center concern
  • MyKey™ system concern
  • OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY that the DRIVER DOOR AJAR message center warning functions correctly.
  • POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT, SERVICE POWER STEERING or SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW message is inoperative/always on
  • Message center concern
  • Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) system concern
  • OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY that the DRIVER DOOR AJAR message center warning functions correctly.
SYMPTOM CHART - WARNING CHIMES

    • If the IPC gauges and indicators are not functioning correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST A .
    • If the IPC gauges and indicators are functioning correctly, INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC)  . TEST the system for normal operation.
  • The chime sounds when the driver door is ajar (no key in ignition and headlamps off)
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors
  • Key-in-ignition switch (part of the ignition switch) (without Intelligent Access (IA))
  • Remote Function Actuator (RFA) module (with IA)
  • Smart Junction Box (SJB)
  • The key-in-ignition warning chime is inoperative

  • The turn signal on warning chime is inoperative

    • If IPC DTC P1534:01 is not present, the system is operating correctly. The air bag secondary warning chime sounds only when a fault in the air bag warning indicator is present and DTC P1534:01 is recorded.
    • If IPC DTC P1534:01 is present, INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC)  . TEST the system for normal operation.
  • The message center warning chime is inoperative
  • IPC
  • DISCONNECT the brake fluid level switch and VERIFY that the message center warning chime sounds when the message center displays CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM.
    • If the message center warning chime sounds when the CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM message appears, the system is operating correctly at this time. The message center warning chime only sounds when the message center displays a new warning message.
    • If the message center warning chime does not sound when the CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM message appears, INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC)  . TEST the system for normal operation.
  • The adaptive cruise control warning chime is inoperative
  • Adaptive cruise control indication concern
