Pinpoint Test Al: The Headlamps On Warning Chime Is Inoperative

AL1 CARRY OUT THE CHIME FUNCTION ACTIVE COMMAND
- Ignition ON.
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: IPC DataLogger.
- Select the IPC chime command (SOUNDER_OUT).
- Scroll through the chimes to select Lights On chime.
- Does the headlamps on chime operate?
- Yes : GO to AL2.
- No : INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . TEST the system for normal operation.
AL2 CHECK THE SAFETY BELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Monitor the safety belt warning chime when the ignition switch is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.
- Does the safety belt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds?
- Yes : GO to AL3.
- No : INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . TEST the system for normal operation.
AL3 CHECK THE EXTERIOR LAMPS OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Place the headlamp switch in the PARKING LAMP position.
- Do the parking lamps operate?
- Yes : GO to AL4.
- No : REFER to EXTERIOR LIGHTING SYSTEM Article.
AL4 CHECK THE DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR OPERATION
- Ignition ON.
- Open then close the LH front door while observing the door ajar warning indicator in the IPC message center.
- Does the door ajar warning indicator operate correctly?
- Yes : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULE article. TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : GO to PINPOINT TEST AA .
