Parking, Rear and License Plate Lamps

Principles of Operation

NOTE: The Smart Junction Box (SJB) is also known as the Generic Electronic Module (GEM).

Voltage is supplied at all times to the parking lamp relay. The parking lamp relay is integrated into the SJB. When the headlamp switch is placed in the PARKING LAMPS ON position, voltage is routed to the SJB, signaling a request for the parking lamps. When the SJB receives this request, the relay is energized and voltage is supplied to the parking lamps.
