Accessory Drive Belt Idler Pulley

Removal and Installation

Vehicles equipped with a 4.0L SOHC engine

1. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to Intake Air Distribution and Filtering [1][2]Diagrams.

All vehicles

2. Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner counterclockwise and remove the accessory drive belt.

3. Remove the belt idler pulley assembly.
- To install, tighten the 2.3L belt idler pulley assembly to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

- To install, tighten the 4.0L belt idler pulley assembly to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).

4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
