Pilot Bearing Check

1. NOTICE: The pilot bearing is a sealed bearing and must not be immersed in any type of cleaning fluid or damage may occur.

Inspect the pilot bearing for the following conditions. Install a new pilot bearing as necessary. For additional information, refer to Clutch Removal and Replacement.

- Needle rollers for scoring, worn or broken rollers, cracked roller cage

- Inadequate grease

- Discoloration

- Seal leakage

- Misalignment and looseness in the crankshaft
