Dimmable Backlighting

When the parking lamps are on, the SJB monitors the input from the instrument panel dimmer switch. The SJB sends a pulse-width modulated voltage to the dimmable components based on input received from the instrument panel dimmer switch.

The SJB also sends a message over the network to the Front Display Interface Module (FDIM), the Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM), the HVAC module and the Instrument Cluster (IC) to indicate the backlighting intensity level.

The dimmable backlighting is also illuminated during illuminated entry/exit features. For information on these features, refer to INTERIOR LIGHTING SYSTEM article.
