Pinpoint Test Ai: The Headlamps On Warning Chime Is Inoperative

  1. AI1 CARRY OUT THE CHIME FUNCTION ACTIVE COMMAND 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: IC  DataLogger.
    • Select the IC  chime command (CHIME_H_LMP).
    • Does the chime operate? 
    • Yes:  Go to AI2  .
    • No:  INSTALL a new IC  . Refer to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (IC)  in this information. TEST the system for normal operation.
  2. AI2 CHECK THE HEADLAMP OPERATION 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Place the headlamp switch in the HEADLAMP position.
    • Do the headlamps operate? 
  3. AI3 CHECK THE DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR OPERATION 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Open then close the LH front door while observing the door ajar warning indicator in the IC  .
    • Does the door ajar warning indicator operate correctly?
