Pinpoint Test Ab: The Service ADVANCETRAC® Message Is Inoperative/Always On

  1. AB1 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER OPERATION 
    • Close all doors, liftgate and hood.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Open the driver door while monitoring the message center displays.
    • Does the message center display DRIVER DOOR AJAR? 
  2. AB2 CHECK THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATOR AND SERVICE RSC® WARNING CHIME OPERATION 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Close the driver door.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Monitor the service RSC®  warning chime.
    • Does the service RSC® warning chime sound? 
    • Yes:  INSTALL a new IC  . Refer to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (IC)  in this information. TEST the system for normal operation.
    • No:  Go to AB3  .
  3. AB3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE ABS MODULE SELF-TEST 
    • Check for recorded DTCs from the ABS module self-test.
    • Are any DTCs recorded? 
    • Yes:  Refer to ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM - VEHICLE DYNAMIC SYSTEM .
    • No:  The system is operating normally at this time. The SERVICE ADVANCETRAC® message turns on and the service RSC®  warning chime sounds when a fault is detected in the RSC®  system.
