Crankshaft Rear Seal

Removal

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to Lifting Points Service and Repair.

2. Remove the flexplate. REFER to Flexplate Removal and Replacement.

3. Remove the crankshaft sensor ring.

4. Using 303-519 (T95P-6701-EH) and 307-005 (T59L-100-B) , remove and discard the crankshaft rear seal.





Installation

1. Clean all sealing surfaces with Motorcraft(R) Metal Surface Prep.

2. NOTE: Lubricate the seal lips and bore with clean Motorcraft(R) SAE 5W-20 Premium Synthetic Blend Motor Oil (US); Motorcraft(R) SAE Super Premium Motor Oil (Canada) prior to installation.

Position 303-1250 onto the end of the crankshaft and slide a new crankshaft rear seal onto the tool.





3. Using 303-1250 and 205-153 (T80T-4000-W) , install the new crankshaft rear seal.





4. Install the crankshaft sensor ring.

5. Install the flexplate. REFER to Flexplate Removal and Replacement.
