Pinpoint Test
- DETERMINE THE FAULT CONDITION
- Place the headlamp switch in the HIGH BEAM position.
- Ignition ON.
- Observe the high beam indicator.
- Does the high beam indicator illuminate?
- Yes: For the Left Hand (LH)/Right Hand (RH) turn indicator, GO to 4 on page 2.
- No: LEAVE the headlamp switch in the HIGH BEAM position. GO to 2 on page 2.
- CHECK THE HIGH BEAM HEADLAMPS OPERATION
- Observe the high beam headlamps.
- Do the high beam headlamps operate correctly?
- Yes: GO to 3 on page 2.
- No: REFER to SYMPTOM CHART: HEADLAMPS .
- CARRY OUT THE Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) INDICATOR LAMP CONTROL ACTIVE COMMAND USING THE SCAN TOOL
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, view the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Parameter Identifications (PIDs).
- Select the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) high beam indicator (HIGH_BEAM) Parameter Identification (PID).
- Command the high beam indicator on and off. Observe the high beam indicator.
- Does the high beam indicator illuminate when commanded on and turn off when commanded off?
- Yes: GO to 8 on page 3.
- No: INSTALL a new Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
- CHECK THE Left Hand (LH) OR Right Hand (RH) TURN SIGNAL LAMPS OPERATION
- Ignition ON.
- Operate the Left Hand (LH) or Right Hand (RH) turn signal. Observe the exterior Left Hand (LH) or Right Hand (RH) turn signal lamps.
- Do the turn signal lamps operate correctly?
- Yes: GO to 5 on page 2.
- No: REFER to SYMPTOM CHART: TURN SIGNAL AND HAZARD LAMPS .
- CARRY OUT THE Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) INDICATOR LAMP CONTROL ACTIVE COMMAND USING THE SCAN TOOL
- Using a scan tool, view the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Parameter Identifications (PIDs).
- Select the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Right Hand (RH) or Left Hand (LH) turn signal indicator (RH_TURN_L) or (LH_TURN_L) Parameter Identification (PID). Command the Right Hand (RH) or Left Hand (LH) turn signal indicator on and off. Observe the Left Hand (LH) or Right Hand (RH) turn signal indicator.
- Does the Left Hand (LH) or Right Hand (RH) turn signal indicator illuminate when commanded on and turn off when commanded off?
- Yes: GO to 8 on page 3.
- No: INSTALL a new Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
- CHECK THE FOG LAMPS OPERATION
- Operate the fog lamps.
- Do the fog lamps operate correctly?
- Yes: GO to 7 on page 3.
- No: REFER to SYMPTOM CHART: FOG LAMPS .
- CARRY OUT THE Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) INDICATOR LAMP CONTROL ACTIVE COMMAND USING THE SCAN TOOL
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, view the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Parameter Identifications (PIDs).
- Select the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) high beam indicator (F_FOG_IND) Parameter Identification (PID).
- Command the fog lamp indicator on and off. Observe the fog lamp indicator.
- Does the fog lamp indicator illuminate when commanded on and turn off when commanded off?
- Yes: GO to 8 on page 3.
- No: INSTALL a new Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
- RETRIEVE THE RECORDED Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) FROM THE Body Control Module (BCM) SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the Body Control Module (BCM) self-test.
- Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
- Yes: REFER to DTC CHART: BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) .
- No: GO to 9 on page 3.
- RETRIEVE THE RECORDED Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) FROM THE Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) self-test.
- Is Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0140:00 recorded?
- Yes: REFER to Diagnostic Routine AV .
- No: INSTALL a new Body Control Module (BCM). REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITH INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) or REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITHOUT INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) .
