Pinpoint Test
- VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify there is an observable symptom present.
- Is an observable symptom present?
- Yes: GO to 2 on page 2.
- No: The system is operating normally at this time. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, perform a network test.
- Carry out the network test.
- Does the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) module pass the network test?
- Yes: GO to 3 on page 2.
- No: REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE J .
- RETRIEVE THE RECORDED Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) FROM THE Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) MODULE SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) module self-test
- Is Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:16 or Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:17 recorded?
- Yes:
For Dual Automatic Temperature Control (DATC), REFER to Diagnostic Routine H .
For Electronic Manual Temperature Control (EMTC), REFER to Diagnostic Routine F .
- No: GO to 4 on page 2.
- RETRIEVE THE RECORDED Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) FROM THE Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) self-test.
- Is Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:16 or Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:17 recorded?
- Yes:
For Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:16, REFER to Diagnostic Routine BD .
For Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:17, REFER to Diagnostic Routine BE .
- No: GO to 5 on page 2.
- RECHECK THE Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)
- Clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Repeat the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) self-test.
- Is Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0424:82 still present?
- Yes: INSTALL a new Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) module. REFER to HEATING VENTILATION AIR CONDITIONING (HVAC) MODULE (Dual Automatic Temperature Control (DATC)) or REFER to HEATING VENTILATION AIR CONDITIONING (HVAC) MODULE (Electronic Manual Temperature Control (EMTC)). CLEAR the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). REPEAT the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) self-test. If Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0424:82 is still present, INSTALL a new Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . TEST the system for normal operation.
- No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
