Pinpoint Test

  1. VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
    1. Ignition ON.
    2. Verify there is an observable symptom present.
    • Is an observable symptom present? 
    1. Yes:  GO to 2  on page 2.
    2. No:  The system is operating normally at this time. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  2. CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
    1. Ignition ON.
    2. Using a scan tool, perform a network test.
    3. Carry out the network test.
    • Does the Occupant Classification System Module (OCSM) pass the network test? 
    1. Yes:  GO to 3  on page 2.
    2. No:  REFER to Diagnostic Routine E .
  3. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) FROM THE Occupant Classification System Module (OCSM) SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, perform the Occupant Classification System Module (OCSM) self-test.
    • Is Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:16 or Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:17 recorded? 
    1. Yes:  REFER to Diagnostic Routine Y .
    2. No:  GO to 4  on page 2.
  4. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) FROM THE Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, perform the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) self-test.
    • Is Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:16 or Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:17 recorded? 
    1. Yes:  For Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:16, REFER to Diagnostic Routine BD .

      For Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:17, REFER to Diagnostic Routine BE .

    2. No:  GO to 5  on page 2.
  5. RECHECK THE Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)
    1. Clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
    2. Wait 10 seconds.
    3. Repeat the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) self-test.
    • Is Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0154:00 still present? 
    1. Yes:  GO to 6  on page 3.
    2. No:  The system is operating correctly at this time. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  6. CHECK FOR Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0154:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
  1. Clear all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
  2. Ignition OFF.
  3. Ignition ON.
  4. Wait 10 seconds.
  5. Using a scan tool, perform self-test.
  6. Retrieve the continuous memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from all modules.
  1. Yes:  INSTALL a new Occupant Classification System Module (OCSM). REFER to OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (OCS) SENSOR module.
  2. No:  INSTALL a new Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
