Pinpoint Test
- VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify there is an observable symptom present.
- Is an observable symptom present?
- Yes: GO to 2 on page 2.
- No: The system is operating normally at this time. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, perform a network test.
- Carry out the network test.
- Does the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module pass the network test?
- Yes: GO to 3 on page 2.
- No: REFER to Diagnostic Routine B .
- RETRIEVE THE RECORDED Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) FROM THE Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) MODULE SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module self-test.
- Is Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:16 or Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:17 recorded?
- Yes:
For Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:16, REFER to Diagnostic Routine A .
For Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:17, REFER to Diagnostic Routine P .
- No: GO to 4 on page 2.
- RETRIEVE THE RECORDED Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) FROM THE Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) self-test.
- Is Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:16 or Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:17 recorded?
- Yes:
For Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:16, REFER to Diagnostic Routine BD .
For Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:17, REFER to Diagnostic Routine BE .
- No: GO to 5 on page 2.
- RECHECK THE Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)
- Clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Repeat the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) self-test.
- Is Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0121:00 still present?
- Yes: INSTALL a new Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module. REFER to ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE . CLEAR the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). REPEAT the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) self-test. If Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0121:00 is still present, INSTALL a new Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
- No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
