All vehicles

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING article.
Remove the intermediate shaft. For additional information, refer to FRONT DRIVE HALFSHAFTS article.
Remove the driveshaft. For additional information, refer to DRIVESHAFT article.
Remove the 4 bolts and the crossmember brace.

Vehicles equipped with 3.0L
Remove the catalytic converter - 3.0L RH. For additional information, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM article.
Vehicles equipped with 2.5L and hybrid
Remove the 2 exhaust bracket nuts.
Hybrid vehicles
Remove the 2 bolts and the exhaust bracket.
Remove the Power Transfer Unit (PTU)-to-engine bracket.
1. Remove the 4 PTU -to-engine bracket bolts.
2. Remove the inner PTU bracket-to-PTU bolt.
3. Fully loosen the outer PTU bracket-to-PTU bolt and remove the bolt with the bracket.
Except hybrid vehicles
Remove the 6 PTU -to-engine bracket bolts and the bracket.
All vehicles
Disconnect the PTU vent tube and position it aside.
Remove the 4 PTU -to-transaxle bolts.
Remove the PTU .
