Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the ignition coils. For additional information, refer to IGNITION COIL-ON-PLUG  in this service information.
  2. NOTE: Only use hand tools when removing or installing the spark plugs, or damage can occur to the cylinder head or spark plug.
    NOTE: Use compressed air to remove any foreign material in the spark plug well prior to removing the spark plugs.
  3. Remove the spark plugs.
    • To install, tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
  4. Inspect the spark plugs. For additional information, refer to ENGINE MECHANICAL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION article.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
