Removal and Installation

- Remove the ignition coils. For additional information, refer to IGNITION COIL-ON-PLUG in this service information.
- Remove the spark plugs.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
- Inspect the spark plugs. For additional information, refer to ENGINE MECHANICAL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION article.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
Only use hand tools when removing or installing the spark plugs, or damage can occur to the cylinder head or spark plug.
NOTE:
Use compressed air to remove any foreign material in the spark plug well prior to removing the spark plugs.
- Adjust the spark plug gap as necessary.
