Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
    NOTE: Only hand-tighten the bolt or damage to the front cover can occur.

  1. Install a 6 mm x 18 mm bolt in the crankshaft pulley and thread it into the front cover.
  2. Install the CKP  sensor and the 2 bolts.
    • Do not tighten the bolts at this time.

  3. Adjust the CKP  sensor with the Crankshaft Sensor Aligner.
    • Tighten the 2 CKP  bolts to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).

  4. Connect the CKP  sensor electrical connector.
  5. Remove the 6 mm x 18 mm bolt from the crankshaft pulley.
  6. Install the engine plug bolt.
    • Tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).
  7. Install the RH splash shield, 5 bolts and the pin-type retainer (not shown in illustration).
