Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the steering column opening cover. For additional information, refer to Instrument Panel - Exploded View in INSTRUMENT PANEL article.
  2. Remove the 3 screws and the lower steering column shroud.
  3. Using a suitable tool such as a dentist pick, release the 2 tabs and remove the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) transceiver.
    • Disconnect the electrical connector.
  4. NOTE: Replacement of the PATS  transceiver does not require the PATS  keys to be programmed into the Instrument Cluster (IC) again.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
