Drive Pinion Seal: Removal

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING article.
Index-mark the driveshaft flange and the pinion flange.

NOTE: Support the driveshaft.

Disconnect the rear driveshaft U-joint flange.
- Remove and discard the 4 bolts.
- Position aside the driveshaft and flange.

Using the Drive Pinion Flange Holding Fixture, hold the pinion flange while removing the nut.
- Remove and discard the pinion flange nut.

Index-mark the location of the pinion to the flange.

Using the 2 Jaw Puller, remove the pinion flange.

Using the Converter Seal Remover and Slide Hammer, remove the pinion seal.
