SYMPTOM CHART - INFORMATION AND MESSAGE CENTER

The factory mode message is always on	Vehicle still in factory mode	CONTACT the hotline for further instructions on how to take the vehicle out of factory mode.
The transport mode message is always on	Vehicle still in transport mode	NOTE: The vehicle automatically defaults to normal operation mode when the mileage reaches 201 km (125 miles). CARRY OUT the procedure to place the vehicle in normal operation mode. REFER to TRANSPORT MODE in Information And Message Center .
The ZONE XX RESET = CHANGE, RESET FOR CALIBRATION or CIRCLE SLOWLY TO CALIBRATE message is inoperative (without SYNC®)	IPC	VERIFY the compass zone reset or compass calibration has been activated by following the appropriate procedure. REFER to COMPASS ZONE ADJUSTMENT or COMPASS CALIBRATION . If the compass information is not displayed in the message center GO to PINPOINT TEST AF to diagnose the compass. If the compass information is displayed in the message center, INSTALL a new IPC . REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . TEST the system for normal operation.
The CIRCLE SLOWLY TO CALIBRATE message is always on (without SYNC®)	Compass calibration and zone setting incomplete	CALIBRATE the compass. REFER to COMPASS ZONE ADJUSTMENT or COMPASS CALIBRATION . TEST the system for normal operation.
The CALIBRATION COMPLETED message is inoperative (without SYNC®)	Compass calibration and zone setting incomplete Auto-dimming interior mirror	CALIBRATE the compass. REFER to COMPASS CALIBRATION . TEST the system for normal operation. If the compass does not calibrate, GO to PINPOINT TEST AF to diagnose the compass.
The outside air temperature display is inoperative/incorrect	Communication concern PCM concern	GO to PINPOINT TEST AH .
The instrument panel dimming display does not appear or change when changing the dimming	Instrument panel illumination concern	REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND PANEL ILLUMINATION to diagnose the instrument panel illumination.
The CHECK FUEL INLET message is inoperative/always on	Evaporative emissions concern PCM IPC	GO to PINPOINT TEST AI .
The WASHER FLUID LEVEL LOW message is inoperative/always on	Wiring, terminals or connectors Washer fluid level switch IPC	GO to PINPOINT TEST AC to diagnose the low washer fluid level message center indicator.
The Distance To Empty (DTE)/average fuel economy display is inoperative	IPC	CHECK the operation of the speedometer, the fuel gauge and the odometer. If the speedometer, the fuel gauge or the odometer do not operate correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST B (single sender L- shaped fuel tank), GO to PINPOINT TEST C (dual sender saddle-type fuel tank), GO to PINPOINT TEST H (speedometer) or GO to PINPOINT TEST J (odometer). If the speedometer, the fuel gauge and the odometer operate correctly, INSTALL a new IPC . REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . TEST the system for normal operation.
The FUEL LEVEL LOW warning is inoperative/always on	Fuel gauge indication concern IPC	GO to PINPOINT TEST AB to diagnose the low fuel message center indicator.
The CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM, PARK BRAKE ENGAGED or BRAKE FLUID LEVEL LOW warning is inoperative/always on	Brake warning indication concern IPC	OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the DRIVER DOOR AJAR warning functions correctly. If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR warning does not function correctly, INSTALL a new IPC . REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . TEST the system for normal operation. If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR warning functions correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST L (never on) or GO to PINPOINT TEST M (always on) to diagnose the brake warning indicator.
The DRIVER, PASSENGER, REAR LEFT, REAR RIGHT DOOR or liftgate AJAR warning is inoperative/always on	Interior lighting concern IPC	DISCONNECT the brake fluid level switch and VERIFY the message center displays CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM. If the CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM warning turns on, GO to PINPOINT TEST AD to diagnose the door ajar message center warning indicator. If the CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM warning does not turn on, INSTALL a new IPC . REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . TEST the system for normal operation.
The CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON or OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message is inoperative	Odometer IPC	Using the system check in the message center, VERIFY the oil life is between 0% and 5% for the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message or at 0% for the OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message. If the oil life is between 0% and 10%, INSTALL a new IPC . REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . TEST the system for normal operation. If the oil life is not between 0% and 10%, the message center is operating correctly. INFORM the customer how the message center functions and how the oil life messages are set.
The SERVICE ADVANCETRAC warning message is inoperative/always on	Stability/traction control indication concern IPC	GO to PINPOINT TEST N to diagnose the ABS warning indicator.
The CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM message is inoperative/always on	Charging system concern PCM IPC	GO to PINPOINT TEST X to diagnose the charging system message center warning indicator.
The TRAILER SWAY REDUCE SPEED message is inoperative/always on	ABS concern IPC	GO to PINPOINT TEST O to diagnose the stability/traction control indicator.
The COULD NOT PROGRAM INTEGRATED KEY message is always on	Maximum number of keys programmed Integrated key programming concern	REFER to HANDLES, LOCKS, LATCHES AND ENTRY SYSTEMS to diagnose the integrated key programming.
The TRANSPORT MODE CONTACT DEALER message is always on	Vehicle still in transport mode	REFER to TRANSPORT MODE in Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) and CARRY OUT the procedure to place the vehicle in normal operation mode.
The TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR FAULT, LOW TIRE PRESSURE or TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR FAULT warning is inoperative/always on	BCM IPC	OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the DRIVER DOOR AJAR warning functions correctly. If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR warning does not function correctly, INSTALL a new IPC . REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . TEST the system for normal operation. If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR warning functions correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST R to diagnose the TPMS warning indicator.
The TRAIN LEFT FRONT, RIGHT FRONT, RIGHT REAR and LEFT REAR message is inoperative/always on	TPMS warning indicator concern TPMS sensor training	NOTE: These messages only appear during the TPMS sensor training procedure. Refer to WHEELS & TIRES . VERIFY the TPMS warning indicator functions. If the TPMS warning indicator does not operate, GO to PINPOINT TEST R . If the TPMS warning indicator operates, CARRY OUT the TPMS sensor training. REFER to WHEELS & TIRES .
The TIRES NOT TRAINED-REPEAT message is always on	TPMS sensor training	CARRY OUT the TPMS sensor training. REFER to WHEELS & TIRES .
The TRAINING COMPLETE message is inoperative	TPMS sensor training	CARRY OUT the TPMS sensor training. REFER to WHEELS & TIRES .
The CHECK PARK AID warning is always on	Parking aid system concern Communication network	REFER to PARKING AID .
The AWD OFF or CHECK AWD message is inoperative/always on	Message center concern All-Wheel Drive (AWD) concern	OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the DRIVER DOOR AJAR warning functions correctly. If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR warning does not function correctly, INSTALL a new IPC . REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . TEST the system for normal operation. If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR warning functions correctly, REFER to FOUR WHEEL DRIVE (4WD) SYSTEMS to diagnose the AWD system.
A Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) or Cross Traffic Alert (CTA) system message is inoperative/always on	Message center concern BLIS® or CTA system concern	OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the DRIVER DOOR AJAR warning functions correctly. If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR warning does not function correctly, INSTALL a new IPC . REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . TEST the system for normal operation. If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR warning functions correctly, REFER to SIDE AND REAR VISION to diagnose the BLIS® or CTA system.
A forward collision warning system message is inoperative/always on	Message center concern Forward collision warning system concern	OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the DRIVER DOOR AJAR warning functions correctly. If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR warning does not function correctly, INSTALL a new IPC . REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . TEST the system for normal operation. If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR warning functions correctly, REFER to COLLISION AVOIDANCE to diagnose the forward collision warning system.
The REMOVE OBJECTS NEAR PASS SEAT warning is always on	Objects near the passenger seat or seat track Occupant classification system concern	REMOVE any objects near the passenger seat or seat track. If the REMOVE OBJECTS NEAR PASS SEAT warning is still present, REFER to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM to diagnose the occupant classification system.
A MyKey® menu is not available or is incorrect	MyKey® programmed key in use Number of keys set to unlimited mode Non-Ford approved remote start system installed	NOTE: MyKey® may not be compatible with non-Ford approved remote start systems. REFER to ANTI-THEFT - PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) to diagnose the MyKey® system.
An All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system message is inoperative/always on	Message center concern AWD system concern PCM	OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the DRIVER DOOR AJAR message center warning functions correctly. If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR warning does not function correctly, INSTALL a new IPC . REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . TEST the system for normal operation. If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR warning functions correctly, REFER to FOUR WHEEL DRIVE (4WD) SYSTEMS to diagnose the AWD system.
The SHIFT TO PARK message is inoperative/always on	PRNDL display concern Wiring, terminals or connectors Park detect switch (part of the selector lever) BCM	GO to PINPOINT TEST AJ .
The PRESS BRAKE TO START, ACCESSORY POWER ACTIVE or STARTING SYSTEM FAULT message is inoperative/always on	Message center concern Intelligent Access (IA) concern	OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the DRIVER DOOR AJAR warning functions correctly and the vehicle functions in all ignition modes. If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR warning does not function correctly, INSTALL a new IPC . REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . TEST the system for normal operation. If the vehicle does not operate in all ignition modes, REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES .
The NO KEY DETECTED or RESTART NOW OR KEY IS NEEDED message is inoperative/always on	Message center concern IA concern	OPEN then CLOSE the driver door and VERIFY the DRIVER DOOR AJAR warning and the IA system functions correctly. If the DRIVER DOOR AJAR warning does not function correctly, INSTALL a new IPC . REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . TEST the system for normal operation. If the IA system does not function correctly using the IA keys, REFER to ANTI-THEFT - PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) .
