Pinpoint Test AJ: The Shift To Park Message Is Inoperative/Always On

  1. AJ1 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER OPERATION 
    • Close all doors, hood and liftgate.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Open the driver door while monitoring the message center displays.
    • Does the message center display DRIVER DOOR AJAR? 
  2. AJ2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST 
    • Check for recorded DTCs from the IPC  self-test.
    • Is DTC U0140:00 recorded? 
  3. AJ3 CHECK THE PRNDL PARK (P) OPERATION 
    • Apply the parking brake.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Shift the vehicle in and out of PARK (P) while monitoring the PRNDL P indication.
    • Does the PRNDL display P with the shifter in PARK (P) and turn off when the shifter is out of PARK (P)?
