Removal and Installation

NOTE: Do not pry in the brake caliper sight hole to retract the pistons, as this can damage the pistons and boots.
NOTE: Do not allow the brake caliper to hang from the brake hose or damage to the brake hose can occur.
NOTE: Make sure the brake caliper hose is not twisted during caliper installation.
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING
  2. Remove the wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to WHEELS & TIRES .
  3. Remove and discard the brake pads. For additional information, refer to BRAKE PADS .
  4. Remove the brake caliper anchor plate bolts and remove the brake caliper anchor plate.
    • To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
