Normal Operation

When the ignition is placed in RUN mode, the Body Control Module (BCM) module provides a ground for the coil (control) side of the run/start relay located in the Battery Junction Box (BJB). The BCM  monitors the run/start relay control circuit and sets a DTC if the circuit is open, shorted to ground or shorted to voltage.

• DTC B1310:12 (Run/Start Control: Circuit Short to Battery) - This DTC is set if the BCM  detects a short to battery in the run/start relay control circuit during a BCM  self-test or during normal operation.

  This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following: 

• Wiring, terminals or connectors
• Run/start relay
• BCM
