Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the LH instrument panel finish panel.
  2. Remove the LH vent register. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL .
  3. Remove the 2 screws and remove the steering column opening trim panel.
    • Disconnect the in vehicle temp sensor.
  4. Remove the LH A-pillar trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  5. Remove the LH and RH floor console upper finish moulding.
  6. Remove the Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM) and the instrument panel speaker. For additional information, refer to INFORMATION AND ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEMS .
  7. NOTE: Lower the steering column to the lowest position.

    Remove the screw from the lower right corner of the LH instrument panel top cover.

    • To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).

  8. Remove the screw from the lower left corner of the LH instrument panel top cover.
    • To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).

  9. Separate the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) opening trim from the upper steering column shroud.
  10. Remove the LH instrument panel top cover by pulling straight back to disengage the clips.
    • If equipped, disconnect the start/stop switch electrical connector.
  11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
