SYMPTOM CHART - WARNING CHIMES

Condition	Possible Sources	Action
All the chimes are inoperative	IPC	INSTALL a new IPC . REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . TEST the system for normal operation.
The chime sounds when the driver door is ajar (no key in ignition and headlamps off)	Exterior lighting concern Interior lighting concern Vehicle may still be in factory mode Wiring, terminals or connectors Key-in-ignition warning switch (part of the ignition switch) (without IA ) BCM	GO to PINPOINT TEST AK .
The key-in-ignition warning chime is inoperative	Interior lighting concern Wiring, terminals or connectors Key-in-ignition warning switch (part of the ignition switch) (without IA ) BCM IPC	GO to PINPOINT TEST AL .
The headlamps on warning chime is inoperative	Interior lighting concern BCM IPC	GO to PINPOINT TEST AM .
The memory feedback (memory seats only) warning chime is inoperative	Memory set feature concern Driver Seat Module (DSM) IPC	GO to PINPOINT TEST AN .
The safety belt warning chime is inoperative	Safety belt warning indication concern IPC	GO to PINPOINT TEST AO .
The Belt-Minder® feature does not operate	Belt-Minder® deactivated Speedometer concern Safety belt warning indication concern IPC	GO to PINPOINT TEST AO .
The door ajar warning chime is inoperative	Wiring, terminals or connectors BCM IPC	OBSERVE the door ajar message center warning indicator. If the door ajar message center warning indicator does not operate correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST AD . TEST the system for normal operation. If the door ajar message center warning indicator operates correctly, INSTALL a new IPC . REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . TEST the system for normal operation.
The parking brake warning chime is inoperative	Brake warning indication concern BCM IPC	GO to PINPOINT TEST AP .
The perimeter alarm chime is inoperative	Perimeter alarm concern IPC	VERIFY the key-in-ignition warning chime functions correctly. If the key-in-ignition warning chime does not function correctly, GO to PINPOINT TEST AL . If the key-in-ignition warning chime functions correctly, REFER to ANTI-THEFT - PERIMETER to diagnose the perimeter alarm.
The air bag secondary warning chime is inoperative/has activated	IPC	RETRIEVE the recorded IPC DTCs from the self-test. If the IPC DTC P1534:01 is not present, the system is operating correctly. The air bag secondary warning chime sounds only when a fault in the air bag warning indicator is present and DTC P1534:01 is recorded. If the IPC DTC P1534:01 is present, INSTALL a new IPC . REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) . TEST the system for normal operation.
