Pinpoint Test A: The Clock Operation Is Erratic/Inoperative

NOTE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
  1. A1 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE CLOCK
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: Clock C2016.
    • Measure the voltage between the clock C2016-6, circuit SBP14 (BN/RD), harness side and ground.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
    • Yes:  GO to  A2.
    • No:  VERIFY that the SJB  fuse 14 (10A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR circuit SBP14 (BN/RD) for an open. TEST the system for normal operation. If not OK, REFER to the SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS to identify the possible causes of the circuit short.
  2. A2 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE CLOCK USING THE CONNECTOR GROUND
    • Measure the voltage between the clock C2016-6, circuit SBP14 (BN/RD), harness side and the clock C2016-5 circuit GD114 (BK/BU) harness side.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
    • Yes:  REFER to CLOCK . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • No:  REPAIR circuit GD114 (BK/BU) for an open. TEST the system for normal operation.
