Removal & Installation

- Remove the front door trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM & ORNAMENTATION article.
- Remove the speaker. For additional information, refer to INFORMATION & ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEMS article.
- Remove the screws and position the driver's door module (DDM) aside.
- Position the upper and lower watershields aside.
- Remove the rivets and position the door latch remote control aside.
- Remove the 2 front door glass top run bolts.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
- Remove the inner belt line moulding.
- Remove the nut and outer belt line moulding.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
- Position the front door glass run front retainer forward.
- Connect the window control switch electrical connectors.
- Lower the front door window glass to gain access to the rivets.
- Remove the 2 rivets.
- Remove the front door window glass.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Using the special tool, install the 2 spacers and two 1/4 inch rivets (use of 1/4 - 20 x 1 inch screw and washer assemblies and 1/4 inch - 20 nut and washer are optional). Tighten the nut (if used) to 13 Nm (10 lb-ft).
CAUTION:
Do not attempt to forcibly remove the rivets as damage to the front door window glass will result.
NOTE:
Before removing rivets, it is necessary to place a suitable block support between the front door window channel bracket and the door outer panel to help stabilize the front door window bracket during rivet removal.
NOTE:
If necessary, align the front door window glass with the front door window channel bracket.
