Passenger Air Bag Deactivation (PAD) Indicator

3 - PAD indicator electrical connector (part of 14401)
NOTE: The Passenger Air Bag Deactivation (PAD) indicator is part of the Hazard/Traction control switch assembly.
    NOTE: The Ignition must be in OFF position if disconnecting the PAD indicator electrical connector. Otherwise, a DTC will be set in the Restraints Control Module (RCM) memory and must be cleared before releasing the vehicle.
  1. Turn the ignition the OFF and wait at least one minute.
  2. Remove the instrument panel center finish panel. For additional information, refer to the appropriate procedure in INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CONSOLE .
  3. Release the 4 tabs (2 upper and 2 lower) on the PAD indicator and remove it from the instrument panel center finish panel.
  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  5. Repower the SRS. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering .
