Pinpoint Test K: DTC C1446 - Boo Plausibility Fault(S)

CAUTION: Use the Flex Probe Kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multi-meter probes.
  1. K1 CHECK THE SJB BRAKE ON/OFF (GEM_BOO) PID 
    • Connect the diagnostic tool.
    • Key in ON position.
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the diagnostic tool: DataLogger GEM
    • Monitor the GEM_BOO PID while pressing and releasing the brake pedal.
    • Does the PID agree with the brake pedal position (BPP)? 
    1. YES  : Go to  K2.
    2. NO  : RETRIEVE and RECORD any SJB DTCs. REFER to the Master DTC Table in MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES article.
  2. K2 CHECK THE ABS MODULE BOO (BOO_ABS) PID 
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the diagnostic tool: DataLogger ABS
    • Monitor the BOO_ABS PID while pressing and releasing the brake pedal.
    • Does the PID agree with the BPP? 
    1. YES  : Go to  K3.
    2. NO  : REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article to diagnose the vehicle communication bus.
  3. K3 CHECK THE ABS MODULE BRAKE PRESSURE (BRAKPRES) PID 
    • Monitor the BRAKPRES PID while firmly pressing and releasing the brake pedal.
    • Does the PID increase when the brake pedal is firmly pressed and decrease when the brake pedal is released? 
    1. YES  : The system is functioning correctly at this time. CYCLE the ignition, TEST drive the vehicle and CARRY OUT at least one ABS stop.
    2. NO  : Go to Pinpoint Test J .
