Pinpoint Test G: The Door Lock Switch Illumination Is Inoperative
Refer to wiring Diagram Set 71, Cluster and Panel Illumination for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number
Normal Operation
The Smart Junction Box (SJB) provides voltage to the driver and passenger door lock switches when the key is in the RUN or ACC position through circuit CBP06 (WH/BU). The door lock switch illumination is grounded through circuit GD161 (BK/YE).
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Driver door lock switch
- Passenger door lock switch
PINPOINT TEST G: THE DOOR LOCK SWITCH ILLUMINATION IS INOPERATIVE
NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
-------------------------------------------------
G1 CHECK CIRCUIT CBP06 (WH/BU) FOR VOLTAGE
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: Driver Door Lock Switch C505 or Passenger Door Lock Switch C605.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage between the driver door lock switch C505-2 or passenger door lock switch C605-2, circuit CBP06 (WH/BU), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes
GO to G2.
No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
-------------------------------------------------
G2 CHECK THE DOOR LOCK GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the voltage between the driver door lock switch C505-2 or passenger door lock switch C605-2, circuit CBP06 (WH/BU), harness side and the driver door lock switch C505-4 or passenger door lock switch C605-4, circuit GD161 (BK/YE), harness side.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes
INSTALL a new door lock switch. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
REPAIR circuit GD161 (BK/YE) for an open. TEST the system for normal operation.
