Pinpoint Test G: The Driver Window Control Switch Illumination Is Inoperative
NOTE:
Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
NOTE:
Failure to disconnect the battery when instructed will result in false resistance readings. Refer to
BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES
.
- G1 CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE DRIVER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Operate the window control switch from the driver window control switch.
- Do the windows operate?
- Yes : GO to G2.
- No : REFER to GLASS, FRAMES AND MECHANISMS to continue diagnosis of the power window.
- G2 CHECK CIRCUIT GD133 (BK) FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect: Negative Battery Cable.
- Disconnect: Driver Window Control Switch C504.
- Measure the resistance between the driver window control switch C504-15, circuit GD133 (BK), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : INSTALL a new driver window control switch. REFER to GLASS, FRAMES AND MECHANISMS . TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
