P1921 - Transmission Range Signal

P1921 - TRANSMISSION RANGE SIGNAL

Description:  The transaxle control module (TCM) continuously monitors the controller area network (CAN) for a transmission range message from the powertrain control module (PCM). This DTC is set when the received message does not match the actual transmission range.
Possible Causes: 
  • Damaged transmission range (TR) sensor or circuit
Diagnostic Aids:  Retrieve all continuous memory and on-demand self-test DTCs from the PCM. Repair any TR related DTCs first.
