  1. - Vehicle Lack/Loss of Power
NOTE: Verify the symptom is reported under normal driving conditions without excessive engine/vehicle load. Also, be aware of the engine RPM/speed limiting functions of the PCM.
SYSTEM/COMPONENT REFERENCE (Pinpoint Test unless noted)
  1. Air Cleaner Element
  1. Visual
  1. Check the following PIDs:
    • LONGFT1 (value between -20 and +20)
  1. LONGFT1 value low (-): 
  2. Continue diagnosis.
  3. Concentrate checks in areas that cause the engine to run rich.
  4. LONGFT1 value high (+): 
  5. Continue diagnosis. Concentrate checks in areas that cause the engine to run lean.
  1. Fuel Delivery System
  1. refer to PINPOINT TEST HC .
  1. Secondary Ignition System
  1. refer to PINPOINT TEST JB .
  1. Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor
  1. refer to PINPOINT TEST DC .
  1. Exhaust System
  1. refer to PINPOINT TEST HF .
  1. Base Engine
  1. REFER to ENGINE - 2.3L HYBRID .
  1. Transaxle
  1. REFER to AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION - ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (ECVT) .
  1. Motor Electronics Cooling System
  1. REFER to TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION COOLING - HYBRID .
  1. Brake System (brake drag or binding)
  1. REFER to BRAKE SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION .
  1. Additional Testing
  1. refer to PINPOINT TEST Z .
  1. Additional Checks:
  1. Visual. REFER to the appropriate article.
